Floral Skirt with Polka Dot Blouse

This Prabal Gurung for Target skirt has been much more versatile than I imagined! Here, I put it with a peach pin-dot blouse and a new pair of peach/nude Banana Republic flats (hence the Band-Aids on my heels). I think it created a cute Bobby Soxer reference.

Shower Sundress Schoolgirl-ized

This is from my stockpile from when the weather was a bit warmer. This is the sundress I wore to my shower, but here I layered it with a white blouse. It took on a school uniform jumper look, so I added the loafers to drive the point even further (also, to anchor all the light colors with some black to make it appropriate for Fall).

Pink Ombre Necklace and Menswear Trousers

I don't know if you can tell, but this was a VERY windy day! These are the pants that match this blazer (also a super windy day!). All of these pieces are either kind of old or very old - this was kind of a "whatever" outfit. But it seems like the less thought I put into a look, the more compliments I get! I paired the menswear-ish pants, watch, and tee with floral sandals and the pink necklace for a fun contrast. The wind is responsible for my hairdo...

Pink Strapless Dress with Floral Blouse Underneath

This is an oooold dress - another one of those items I found at TJ Maxx when I didn't really need a dress, but bought it anyway. I've worn it several ways - including to a wedding - but I hadn't worn it in a while. I decided to give it new life by adding this blouse underneath. I got a lot of compliments/questions about where I got this "dress", every one shocked to hear that it was two pieces!

Neon Floral Shower Dress with Color Block Heels

It was becoming a running joke, how many dresses I bought and accessories I packed for my Bridal Shower/Bachelorette Weekend Extravaganza. I am very much a moody dresser, and I wanted to be sure I had options. I almost went with a much dressier option (which is now added to the Rehearsal Dinner pile of options...), but my 'maids convinced me to keep it more casual. In honor of the groom's last name, they all wore jeans and white tee shirts, so this dress was, indeed, the right choice.

I like how this Zara dress is kind of a play on the stereotypical shower floral shift, but with neon and built in mixed prints. I had been searching for black and white striped shoes, but found that these neutral/neon heels were even better! And for the necklace, I went shopping in Jill's Wall of Accessories.

Gingham Bread Cookies

Here's an easy look. I'm really loving the little tie of the shirttails lately. This bow is TEENSY since I buttoned it all the way down. It looks "done" like it's tucked in, but not as fussy (plus, I don't have to wear a belt!).

(Clam) Dig it, man!

I posted a menswear-ish take on this shirt yesterday, but this time I decided to play TO the shirt instead of against it.

I knew I wanted to run with the girliness, so I pulled out a bunch of bow jewelry and these floral shoes. I almost added neutral pants, but threw caution to the wind and busted out the bright pink. The shirt/capri/sandal combo ended up looking kind of 50s-ish - I really let that shirt do the talking!

And yes, my hair has been cut and highlighted ("frosted" as my mom likes to say) - not that you can even really tell with all this wind.

Tip Toe Through The Tulips

I almost didn't buy this floral blouse, thinking it was too big. But Jill talked me into it, and now it's in heavy rotation! I "butched" it up here a little with tough pants and a menswear-ish blazer.  The next time I wore it, I went full on girly - check back here tomorrow for pics.

FUNNY VALENTINE

Valentine's Day means pink, red, hearts and roses. So I threw them all into one outfit.

This was my low key Valentine's look for school. I almost walked out of the house with ALL of my heart jewelry piled on, but decided at the last minute to remove most of it (Thank you, Coco Chanel!).

I wasn't sure if the red shoes would look ridiculously out of place. There's red in the scarf, but it's kind of hard to tell, so I added the red bangle to help it look cohesive. I chose the grey slacks as a menswear piece to balance the sugary sweet girliness of the rest.

Pinky Swear

This week was Spirit Week at school, so I don't have much new material (hence all the "flashbacks"). For the uninitiated, Spirit Week is when you show your school spirit by wearing silly stuff all week (Mismatch Day was epic, and I'm pretty bummed I didn't capture the glory of my insane outfit!). Tuesday was Color Day, where each grade is assigned a different color to represent. We pulled pink, which I was pretty excited about until I got home and realized that I don't have much solid pink.

I usually sleep in this sweater! It is kind of awkwardly big/long (I bought it as an emergency cover up one chilly summer day), but super soft. I decided to go with the slouchy idea and paired it with boyfriend-y jeans and a big scarf. These pink glitter shoes jazzed the whole look up, and I threw on these earrings at the last minute just to be extra ridiculous (Jill thinks they look like Mentos).
