Red Turtleneck and Camo Vest

I'm posting this outfit on April Fool's Day because a style blogger in Uggs is a bit of a joke. Out of desperation for something to wear to/from Bar Method in the winter, I bought a pair of $14 purple faux-Uggs. I quickly wore those out - and it was definitely not because I was working out a lot! It pained me to spend real Ugg money on such ugly shoes, but I finally bit the bullet. AND NOW I CAN'T TAKE THEM OFF.  My black Uggs paired with Magic Pants is my official uniform until Spring. Sorry not sorry.

Varsity Blues and Greens

I hadn't worn this cardi/shirt combo in a while, so I pulled it out on a cool day. As usual, I checked the weather on my phone and decided I needed another layer. This Academy Blazer works perfectly with the varsity vibe of the sweater, and the necklaces are a delicate homage to the age of pearls and charm bracelets.

Play Ball

Although I bought this sweater way back in Fall, the baseball hem still keeps it right on trend for Spring! This is a little more matchy-matchy than I usually go for, but I kept the shoes neutral and snuck in the randomness of the yellow hair tie to keep the look from feeling too forced.

It's Turtle Time!

WOW, I forgot how much better pictures look when taken outside! Jill had been trying to get me to agree to outdoor pictures for several days - she is made of hearty Greek stock and I am a sad little wimp. I finally agreed on this day when I was pretty bundled up. It was beautifully sunny out and actually not too cold, until the wind hit us! Even she realized we had made a terrible mistake. We sucked it up and took a few shots quickly, and then agreed not to do this again unless the temperature was at least 45 degrees.

All Ages And Stripes

Okay, I gave up on the PJs (although, I'm still rocking the slippers...). I still felt like hot garbage, but sometimes you have to put on real pants. Fun story: This is the outfit that inspired a (Special Ed) 8th grader to ask me if I was pregnant! Nevermind that I weigh less that at least half of the 14 year olds there. She has detention FOREVER.

I'm working a little stripe on stripe action here. I had been standing, staring into my closet when this combo came to me. Both are old pieces I've never worn together. I paired the dark grey cords to anchor the pastels and to add another cold weather fabric so it did't look too Easter-y. I spent a while trying to pick a different necklace since I'd already paired these, but this match up is just meant to be.

Side note: After so many teeny J. Crew collars, these green ones look HUGE! If it weren't for the necklace, I would've tucked the points into the sweater.

You can't tell at all from the pictures, but I did a little variation on my standard low bun. I seperated seven ninths of my hair in the back, and braided the front two ninths into skinnyish regular braids and tied with clear bands. Then I just pulled everything back into a low messy bun. NOT rocket science, but it made it a little less boring.

Another String To Your Bow

Day Two of Pajamas on the Down Low. These pants are loose and stretchy: a deliciously comfortable combination.  The shirt and sweater look like legit clothes, but both are light and unrestricting. And my shoes are straight up slippers. Even the necklace is a light little wisp compared to the chunky ones I normally wear.

This sweater is mega old, but I LOVE the bow on the back. A simple bun shows it off.

I'm Still Jenny From The Colorblock

I have attempted to photograph this sweater/shirt/necklace combo on no less than three occasions  The first time was on Thanksgiving, where my sister from another mister, Ellery, gamely agreed to snap some shots with her Point and Shoot, but neither of us had a clue what we were doing. The second time was an exact replication at school with Jill, but the pictures mysteriously refused to appear on a thumb drive. This time, I changed up the bottom half and encountered no complications. (Which is interesting, since the last time I tried to wear these navy cords to school, an entire liter of orange soda exploded on me.)

Though these pieces had previously summoned bad karma, the universe was much more forgiving this time, since this was the day I was invited for a "real" job at my school! Between this and the engagement: Everything's coming up Milhouse lately :)

I prefer how the brown moccasins wink at the brown in the necklace, rather than the randomness of the tan shoes I wore before.

Below is a strangely colored picture from Thanksgiving. We were pretty rushed so the background is a little odd and you can't see my shoes in the grass. The only differences here are pants and shoes, and less accessories.

Of A Different Stripe

Gotta love Casual Friday. Here's another cute little soft blazer I picked up at Target this week. I threw it on with a very casual t-shirt (it even has that baseball hem on the bottom), and one of the very few pair of jeans I have hemmed for flat shoes.

The wood necklace helps the tan shoes make sense, and the pin holds down a rebellious lapel (and very slightly references the trees in the t-shirt).
