Michelle Starbuck Designs

Something about a gaggle of freezing bloggers in the middle of a busy street inspired a few creepers in an adjacent building to bust out a pair of binoculars for a better look! Despite the shivering and the spectators, I had a delightful afternoon with these beauties. Laurie did our makeup, Jill tried out her new oval wand on our hair, Erin played photographer, Peggy wore a cute fox (cat?) shirt, and Michelle Starbuck Designs supplied the intricate jewels.

I was introduced to Michelle Starbuck's jewels when Jill gave me the Assymetrical Hexagon Molecule Necklace for the holidays. She said it made her think of my little molecule growing inside me. I also got to borrow these cool Mini Eye Drop Earrings (which you, unfortunately, can't even see). Visit Hallways Are My Runways, Hot Pink Style, and 312 Beauty for details on the other girls' outfits.

Michelle's line is delicate but cool and interesting, and her price point is awesomely affordable (most pieces are about $35ish)! Michelle is offering All Mouth and Trousers readers 20% off until the end of February. Just visit Michelle Starbuck Designs and use the code MSD20 when you check out.

Turtleneck and Boots

We are jumping ALL over the place now... this is from The Chiberian Winter. This look actually works better for fall than it did in the snow!

Grey Jeans, Stripes, and a Messy Sock Bun

Uhoh, better post this turtleneck and coat before Spring FINALLY gets here!

The most exciting (and, ahem, timely) part of this post is my hair. I have successfully gotten on an every-other-day shampoo schedule. Fresh shampoos are still greeted with my usual 45 seconds of bang styling and the rest is up to nature - but waking up on a non-shampoo day presents a slept on hot mess. Usually, I spent my unused washing time on a quick curl job with my flat iron. But sometimes, I still oversleep and other measures need to be taken: hence this bun.

Yes, it is a sock bun, but I don't love the donut-y preciousness your typical sock bun creates. So my solution was to put my hair in a high pony with a band, slip the sock over the band, messily twist my hair around the sock, and pin at will. This gives the fullness of a traditional sock bun but with a casual edge.

Red Turtleneck and Camo Vest

I'm posting this outfit on April Fool's Day because a style blogger in Uggs is a bit of a joke. Out of desperation for something to wear to/from Bar Method in the winter, I bought a pair of $14 purple faux-Uggs. I quickly wore those out - and it was definitely not because I was working out a lot! It pained me to spend real Ugg money on such ugly shoes, but I finally bit the bullet. AND NOW I CAN'T TAKE THEM OFF.  My black Uggs paired with Magic Pants is my official uniform until Spring. Sorry not sorry.

Denim Shorts and Over the Knee Leopard Boots at StyleChicago

Note: this is arguably the worst picture I've ever seen of Vered. Unfortunately, it's also the only picture I have of this outfit. Sorry, boo!

StyleChicago events are always early on Friday evenings, so it's usually a mad dash to get home, changed, and downtown in time for VIP cocktail hour! As usual, I had NO IDEA what I was going to wear: it was freezing, snowing, and still slushy from previous snow. I figured these boots ought to do the trick (with, no joke, two pairs of socks) but was at a loss for what else to wear. I try to let my crazy flag fly during these fashion events because they are certainly the best format. Somehow, the idea of these shorts with tights came to me and I made my poor husband dig them out of storage! I am very pleased with how the look came out, although I with the blazer was made of a heavier, more textured fabric. A black velvet blazer is on my wishlist!

Navy and Black Tuxedo Pants with Red Turtleneck

Ooo girl, you know I love a good tuxedo pant! I popped into Old Navy hoping to find a new pair of skinnies, but I walked out with these babies. They are crazy comfy but extremely polished, which is basically the holy grail of dressing, amirite?!
