Ripped Jeans and a Pretty Top

Oops, I seem to have had a Not-So-Conscious Uncoupling with this blog lately... This is my first year with a real classroom (being a resource pull-out and being a legit classroom teacher are TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS, people!), so my weeknights involve playing Sleep or Eat, and very little else. But Jill helped a sister out by editing some of the pictures she had of me on her camera, to make it a lot easier for me to get back in the groove.

These are from the last day of school last year, but this Ripped Jeans and a Pretty Top combo would still work for fall with some ankle boots and a cozy cardigan.

Pretty Lace Top with Jeans

There's that Honeybee necklace again! This lace top is as comfortable as a long sleeve tee, but is much more interesting. (Exact Forever 21 top below in Ivory, and only $12!)

White Lace Top with Blingy Sandals

Clearly, this outfit is from the archives! These are the Barefeet Shoes I bought for my Bachelorette. I ordered this top through eBay, but when it arrived the sleeves were a little too flared. It made the top look more Patchoulli than Romantic. But with a quick little roll of the sleeves, it still totally works.

Ombre Jeans with Lace Blazer

These are the ombre jeans and jellies I got at Forever 21 after the dermatologist waaay back in May

The jacket is from Choies, which is kind of a Chinese Forever 21. They have very trendy pieces from a variety of Chinese brands. I was wary about the fit and quality, but the size guides made it easy to figure out which size to order (this is a Medium - I measured the shoulders of a well fitting blazer I already own). And the quality is much better than expected - this blazer was both delicate and sturdy. The package took a zillion years to come, but it ended up being worth the wait. I'll report back on fit/quality consistency next time I order.

AN ARMY OF ONE

I forgot I had these boots! I am often woeful that I can never find boots I like, meanwhile there are several hiding in my collection (none of which I particularly love, but it at least adds a little variety to those extra chilly days).

Peaches and Green

I was itching to get the tags off this new lacy top, and these old green tuxedo pants seemed like an obvious pairing choice. I like the juxtaposition of the girlishness of the top with the masculinity of the tuxedo stripe. But something about the neutral colors seemed kind of flat, so I brought out my inner Chloe Conspiracy and tossed this bright yellow necklace into the mix. It is kind of unsettling with the rest of the "romantic" vibe, but that's what makes it personal and fun.
